There are two Hs at an auction. What size rear tires will they or should they have?
Thank you

Factory rubber would be 38 inch, 10, 11, or possibly 12inches wide. If they were originally steel wheels cut down and had rims welded on they may be 38" although a lot of them got 36" rims.

Could have anything from 11.2x38 all they way up to 15.5x38 or even bigger. I like 11.2s on an H, but 12.4 and 13.6 are pretty common. Anything over that is really just too big for an H.

from factory it was likely to have, as stated, 10 or 11 38's. The very common size to see on them this day in age is 12 38's. Occasionally see some with wider, but wider gets a little to wide for the rim and comes out to be a little to much tire. I would exspect to find 12's to be on them now, and if they don't and you end up with them I would for sure plan on 12's ending up on them at tire replacement time.

I was hoping to find some 12.4 36s for my F 20. I thought that an H might have them, but I guess that isn't very likely.

Not unless it is a real early one. Early H's had 36" two-piece rims on them, but the odds of you finding one like that are slim. Most were changed to 38" drop centers due to how dangerous the two-piece rims are.

A few years agi I ran across an M with 36" rear rubber. The Hs also had the 36" option, and yes, I believe it was an option, so yes, they ARE out there.
