Farmall H push rods

Hi,

I have two bent push rods on my 1943 Farmall H. I am going to try straightening them but I prefer to put new (or usable) ones in.

What push rods will fit into my H besides the original ones? Are there better (i.e. thicker/ harder) out of other Farmall models out there which will fit?

Does anyone have some pushrods that he would sell me? :D

Thank you,

Hendrik

Find out what bent them.A "heavier" pushrod will
bend or break something.Stay with standard H
pushrod.Wont hurt a thing to straighten them.Lay
them on a (steel) table and tap em straight. BTDT

I've straightened MANY pushrods. Just lay them down on a sturdy, FLAT surface and use a hammer. You WILL need to use a little force, but don't get carried away. When you think you have it straight, ROLL the pushrod across a SMOOTH, flat surface. If it still wobbles a bit, it isn't straight. A pushrod that has been properly straightened will be every bit as good as one that has never been bent.

Thank you for your replies.

The reason for my bent push rods are two stuck valves. My Model H seems to have been standing without being started for at least 20 years.

I will try to straighten them as you recommended.

Regards,
Hendrik

Yes, stuck valves is what bent the pushrods I have straightened.
