Finishing up my overhaul on the Super C. Should I use a sealer on the head gasket, or just button it up dry?

couple of coats of copper coat works well.

Does the gasket have instruction on it for sealer as some do. I have used HI-TEMP ALUM paint for yrs on those engines with great results couple coats will be fine.

all I have ever used is permatex high-tack sealer. its a red spray on sealer that is oil and gas resistant and works very well for any gasket that you need held in place. also the gasket is easily removable.

I ussually always put my head gaskets on dry, or if anything just a little smear of gun grease. Be sure to let the head down on it real nice and easy. If you let it slam down, the impact will likely damage the gasket. Be sure you tighten the bolts up to proper spec, and in the right sequence.
