oil pan removal 460

Hello guys, haven't been on the forum lately. But good to be back on. Started removal of the oil pan to install a new gasket on my 460 gas utility tractor and looked like an easy job until I removed all the bolts and the pan would not come off due to not clearing the front axle and the arms that attach to the front axle that attach to the botton of the transmission. Is there an easier way to remove the pan other than loosing the axle? Thanks

Had the same issue with my 240 Utility. If I held my tongue just right and kept wiggling and turning the pan, it eventually came out.

Not saying that will work for you, but it might just be a matter of finding the perfect angle of approach to get it out.

Not familiar with that tractor, but Ihave a couple models that have similar problems, and if I turn steering hard left or hard right, the arms move up / down / back / forth just enough to get to things.

use permatex high-tack spray on gasket sealer. that's what it is designed for and is great.

Thanks rustred for the reply. I was able to get the oil pan not off ,but wiggle it low enough to remove the old gasket and there was no gasket sealant, it just popped right off. When I was removing the oil pan there was a metal wrap around band that fitted to the lip of the oil pan that the bolts passed thru, but each corner of the band was broken and it was in 4 pieces. Not sure if was made that way or just broken.
