Hi all, I am thinking about buying a MD, don't know too much the operation of one. What is the proper way to shut down after the normal cool down time,do you shut down on diesel or switch back to gas? Thanks Pete

Warm up time is about 1 minute in summer, 3 to 5 minutes in winter (zero). Cool down (from full operating temp) is 3 minutes at idle on diesel. Leave on diesel until restarting.
The opinion of others will be different than this but as a former owner and reasoning person, I believe in the above. Jim

My dad had a MD, when i was growing up, if u do buy one, when u change the engine oil, also change the oil in the injection pump, it only holds a 1/2 pint, use the same type of oil that u put in the engine. I agree with the Ia Kid and Jim on the shut down, only thing ever happen to our MD was the Governor spring broke. Also buy or get a owners manual.
