Were not talking the equipment either. Dad out tedding the second cutting on the 200
We hooked up the old rake I got last year for $70. My uncle stopped by and told us we could use it as a tedded and showed us how to set it up, works pretty good and is a couple of feet wider than the other tedded so less time.

We never had a tedder growing up. Grandpa had a
good new idea trailer hay rake. We just set it up
high if we want to ted. Lots of times we would rake
into windrows let dry for a day, rake the row over
let dry then bale

This this thing has a reverser lever. Reverse the rotation of the rake and it just fluffed it up nice. Dad said it worked quite well. Just need to take a link out of the chain and replace a few needles.

The Super C / 200 Farmalls were a great tractor for the size of most eastern, family farms for years and continue to be a great little tractor to have around. Independent pto is about the only thing they were missing but judging by how few 240 tractors where ever sold around here, most people must have stayed with the trusty Super C.

Great pictures of putting the old iron to work.

My dad had an alis chalmers rake:he and my uncle bought the optional extra wheels for it,but later modified the front to mount on the left side,just ahead of the windrow as it began to roll. It was very handy,we used the tedder feature all the time,too!I've never seen another in use.Mark

We hot 96 bales from that lot. Not bad for the second cut. I am going to do some work on the rake for next year and we will use it more. It's wider and no belts to clog up with hay.
