(W)450 power train oil change ?'s

I have a W450 with a t/a. Going to change engine oil, tran & diff, pto oils. The t/a housing, trans/diff looks a lot like my 560D IH which has hy-tran in it. Is the t/a oil transfered back & forth with the tran/diff? The t/a just grinds while pulling the lever backwards. Im assuming its in to be spilt to fix, but that project done the road. So would I be safe in putting hy-tran in the t/a housing? 80w90 in the tran/diff/pto housing? The 450 is abit odd to me, as have 80w90 in the H tran/diff, 80w90 in the SW6, hytran in the 560D. Thanks for any info, I tried searching. Didn't come up with info Im looking for.

The TA housing shares its oil with the trans and rear end. From the Super MTA on up, any TA-equipped tractor uses Hytran for lube.

You MUST use Hytran for proper operation of the TA. Of course since your TA does not work it probably is neither here nor there what you use, but when you fix the TA you need to use Hytran.

right from sw6ta to the 660 they all use hytran oil. when the ta first came out in the w6 I believe there was an additive for the gear oil as it was too thick. then there was a switch to hytran.

Thanks for the info guys, once I get the W450 to run better & fix the t/a it will get hy-tran. Will leave what ever is in it for now. Has a carb issue, then need to get the snowblower to run.
