hole in exhaust manifold for heating carb

Hi All

In another thread below someone mentioned there is a small hole in the manifold that heats the carb to keep it from freezing. Does anyone know where that hole is on a super c/200 manifold? I suspect mine is plugged with paint and/or rust and might be why I have freeze-ups in the winter.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

The holes are only in manifolds used on earlier engines such as the H or M tractors. They also serve to allow water to drain out of the manifold.

My Super A is equipped with a distillate manifold. In the square box (approx. 5 by 5 inches) in which the heat regulation valve resides are two small holes, just 2 inches forward of the flange to which the carb mounts.
