Sweetfeet - Farmall Regular Plowing

Sweetfeet, I recently saw your pix of your
Regular plowing. Great to see! I recently thought of times when first I rode sitting on the rear axle as my dad plowed and later when I plowed with our old Regular. The sound of that old engine was truly memorable. Funny, but not long ago I acquired a wornout J D 3020 which is a four cylinder. I was using it the other day and it was just like the ol' regular--except for a decent ride, hydraulic lift, power steering and a decent seat. What a thought, as I used the 3020--thinking of the old regular. Thanks again for the pix and please you and guy hang in there with that ol reg! kelly

Hi Sweetfeet, took the 1923 10-20 to our tractor clubs working weekend last month. Borrowed a Little Genus plow like yours and went ploughing with it. Went well in second gear till wife wanted a go and I lost my tractor. Earlier this year I bought a 3 furrow (bottom) Little Genus plow in very good order to go behind my W6. MJ

Kelly in TX,
Thanks for sharing - great story! :)

The old Regular does have a very distinct sound... can't really describe it, but much different than our F20.

We'll be hanging in there with the Regular until we are too old for a hand-crank tractor.

MJ,

How fun! Plow days are the best. We like them even better than threshing shows.

When you say you "lost your tractor" I hope you just mean your wife wouldn't give it back... not that she killed it.
