tree vs super a

Pine tree fell across tractor. Need to remove the long steering shaft that holds the steering wheel. Any advice would be welcome shaft is bent.

Mite need to cut it into if its bent very much as to remove you need to take the big nut off in the end where the shaft goes then unscrew the shaft out the front. But if the shaft is bent very much it will not go thru the bushing and out the front. You can cut the shaft 6in or so before it goes into the housing and then remove it out the front. You will then need another shaft or get a coupling to refasten back together drill holes to fasten pieces to the shaft. I have some good used ones.

heat it up and bend it straight, or use a big hammer and something heavy as an anvil and straighten it cold.

Sounds like it fared better then the A I got a few years back. The A I got rolled down a hill and hit a tree and broke into 3 pieces or more

Thanks for the great advice. I think I will use a replacement. If you will let me know the cost of yours and shipping to 28523, I will get a check in the mail.
