Yes,and yes, it will work for an H. The steel
plate was made in two sizes, H & M. If yours
happens to be for an M you can re-drill the holes
to make it work.

Wouldn't he also need to modify the steering arm that bolts to the tractor steering shaft if its from a M?

It appears to have been off an M. the plate appears to be wider the then the H frame as well. It was about an inch or 2 wider. Also one of the knuckle/spindles are broke so I'll have to find one of them.

Talking to my local international parts guy, he believes the axles are different. He thinks the M version which I have is built heavier then the H version. Can anyone confirm this?

That axle had some part number breaks for some parts depending on the time period, but H and M axles of the same time period used the same center tube, extensions and spindles on that type axle. Looks like 8274DB hubs with that axle. Maybe you can find the number on a hub.

Yea, I verified that the everything is the same between the two other then the main mounting plate and the steering arm. I love that CASEIH has all the part diagrams on their website. What I didn't know was there were two different wide front attachments offered by IH. A fixed wheel base and an adjustable wheelbase like mine.

I'm supposedly getting another axle that should be the same as what I got but for an H. Hopefully it has the steering arm as well as the a non broke knuckle. I will still need an H plate. I have a connection that has one that said i could borrow it to have it duplicated. I'd like to find a rusty original to go with my rusty H though.
