Are these factory weights?

A friend of mine just bought a 1486 to farm and stock pull with.It has a set of weights on the inside of the rear hubs that say IHC on them. They look professionally made. Did IH make weights like these? Thanks Kent

I don't think so! I worked at FARMALL for 5-6 years and never saw any weight like that.

Yes, it's a "Factory Weight" but NOT a FARMALL FACTORY weight. I can't remember the name of the foundry that made them but it wasn't an IH foundry. May have been several small foundries that cast them.

There's NOTHING like that weight in my TC-167 parts book for the whole 66-series of tractors.
 
No, those would have been made in a small local foundry. Lots of places made them. I quite often see weights from Sishc foundry Gering NE. They must have made a lot of them.

Taylor Foundry in Texas supply tractor weights. I remember we had a catalog at the Dealership but hardly ever looked at it. Have no idea if weights in picture are Taylor ?

Looked at their website but no info or picture of weights. Fun to look at website however as they use "tractor cartoons" in their ad.

It reminds me of the weights that were on that wd9 I bought earlier this year. It had massive weights on the inside and outside of the wheel and one set of factory rounds.
 
There was a company in Saskatchewan Canada year's ago, that made weight's to fit all brands of Tractors,they would be painted, and with brand names stamped in them.They would send out brochures to the states, well at least i got them. But where and why they have that yellow paint under the red,is a mystery to me, unless that was their primer. I would like to look for a made in Canada symbol ,or a made in USA, stamp.
