I put a brand new zenith carb on my Super C over 3 years
ago. Last week end I went to unload it after a tractor pull and it
would not start. I finally got it run long enough to unload it and
the fuel was pouring out the bottom of the carb. I pulled the
carb apart thinking there was something stuck in the needle
and seat. The needle looked good. The seat had something in
it. I took it out and the bottom side was completely corroided. It
was from the bottom of the seat all the way up to where the
needle seats. I have run probably 15 or 20 tanks of gas thru it.
I guess the ethenol finally caught up with the brass seat. Oh
for the good old days of leaded gas.
