I am resorting a farmall M and I am wondering if the fenders are suppose to have spacers between the axle housing and the fender. If so how many inches should they be. Thanks for the help.

If you keep the wheels out on the axles normally, a good idea is to make spacers that place the fenders out about 3 to 4 inches each. and with the standoffs as mentioned. This allows more platform space. Jim

The parts that Jim is referring to are available right here on YT. I have a set on my 350 and they position the fenders nicely for a 60" track width. Having the fenders outboard like this makes getting on and off the tractor a lot easier.

Heres what they look like with the spacer kit. This is a 450 but M looks the same they use the same kit.

I take the tractor to shows and a few pulls. I have had 2 back surgeries and 4 sets of back injections over the last 40 years and can't lift the large tractor weights but can handle these ( 45 lbs - 25 lbs.) with out being laied up for weeks afterwards.

(quoted from post at 06:18:42 09/07/14) That tractor must be a body builder. Looks like it lifts weights all the time.

That's because the Deere guys bought all the IH weights, and there are none left for the people that really need them.
