I was looking at a MTA tractor the other day. I took a pic of the Vin number. It is: 622 66 DS...the tag is all faded out, but that was all I could see that as on the tag. What can some of you Farmall guru's tell me about it?

Are u thinking there is 1 number missing, five is all there was! they started out with 60,001, it has a gas engine? the S is for Independent Live power take off, the D , i have no idea.

Tractor was assembled in March 1954 and equipped with a T/A and engine originally had pistons called 5,000 foot type by IH to help make up for a power loss when operated at a higher elevation.
Engine serial number should also have a D following it.
If tractor would happen to be a LP some of those were also equipped with D or a E suffix for higher compression pistons when operating on LP.
Should add the S also means the tractor was equipped to drive a independent PTO if installed along with being built with a T/A.
Serial number would be 62266.
