Gas problem?

On my super m I"ve done every think under the sun and still can"t figure out what"s wrong. Ever time I start it up it spits and sputters bad like it"s not getting enough gas. I"ve rebuilt carb and adjust to factory settings many times and still doesn"t run right. Just had to put new coil on it so it shouldn"t be spark problem.
 
How is the timing? Has it jumped time at the gears? Are there any broken timing advance springs or weights? Points clean and set?
 
If you pull the plug in the carb do you get a good flow of gas for a few minutes.I've had problems with several of my tractors over the past couple of years with junk in the screen to the carb and the outlet in the tank. I just pulled stuff on my M from the screen at the carb that looked like roots growing in it.
 
No choke doesn't make it better it makes it worst and no inline fuel filter. Have not checked timing but will do that tomorrow and I put new points and condenser in. There's a good fuel flow as well
 
What repair kit did you get and what did the instructions say? The needle for the main jet on the SM carb gives max power at 5 turns out. If you adjusted it as for the M, (in until rough, out until smooth) it won't have any power.
 
On an ignition system you need things set right and clean. Points need to be at the correct gap and clean. Gap of 0.020. Condenser needs to be good. Cap and rotor need to be good. You need a good blue/white spark from ALL 4 plug wires. Plus the plugs need to be gaped right

It is kind of an issue with SOME Ms. It needs to warm up a bit, then it will run just fine. If it doesn't, then you have an internal carburetor problem.
