Turn on the switch and the tellights come on, press the starter switch and everything goes dead, and stays that way for some time. Today I installed a new switch, cleaned the multiple connectors with electrical cleaner, eliminated the batteries, by using the truck and it is still dead. The OM gives a good elec diagram, and I have the one from this site as well, where can we be loosing power. Suggestions are welcome; thank you...Darald

With the switch on and the lights not working you will need to start checking all the connections from the battery to the switch to see where the voltage is lost. Either a test light or a voltage meter will work. Don't forget to check the battery cables as well as the ground connection.

35 yrs. ago an older guy showed me a good tip for them kind of problems. Take a jumper cable connect it to the battery ground and the frame and see what happens. As stated above its a good way to find bad grounding problems.
