My Super C is here

I used to post here years ago, back when my Cub was the 'big' horse. Time passed and Cub was superceded by an M, H, Super M, B, 450, 560, and W9.

Now, I've gotten ahold of this fair Super C. Runs quite well, no smoke, no gear noise, tight steering, fair rear rubber. Needs the usual charging system work and a little carb tweaking (I suspect the float is hanging up from time to time.) Somebody stuck a 12V battery on it with no resistor in front of the coil so that'll have to get squared away.

The single front is interesting. Never had one of those. The tire itself looks new.

I haven't seen too many single-front setups lately. Does anyone know if these are weaker or stronger than the standard narrow front? I do alot of loader work with mine and I know the front bolster is the weakest link. Does it steer any easier or harder than the standard narrow front?

Thanks for the pictures

nice single front.

hope the hub comes apart easy for tire renewal. i have a ford 951 with a single front.. and tires are spendy!

(quoted from post at 10:43:37 08/26/14) I just bought a rusted up Super C too! Doesn"t run but maybe if you"d let me, you could give me some tips on repairing??

Start new threads with any questions you may have.

i would rather have the two tire narrow front if one goes flat you can still drive it to get where you can fix the flat one

Narrow fronts here are as rare as a single is elsewhere. Most C/SC here are single because of the 'watermark'.A single will follow the furrow wheras a narrow will be everywhere.I suppose the narrow is stronger for a loader......

My Uncle had a 240 he mounted a single front under when I was a teenager. I used it to "plow in" a field of Bahai Grass seed. Seems to me it was much the same on grass areas. It was certainly no more difficult to drive than a two wheel front. He did not leave it on the 240 long so he must not have liked it too much.
