Super A Headgasket Sealant

Does the head gasket for a Super A require any special sealant when replacing the gasket or does it go back dry.

If using a metal-faced gasket, use Copper Coat as directed.

If a "composite" gasket, install "dry" unless directions with the gasket state otherwise.

Look at the gasket. The last few I did had stamped right on them "Sealer and Re-torque Required".

I use hi-temp aluminun paint several coats both sides as your replacement gasket will say use sealer.

I've used copper spray and Permatex. I usually use Indian head sealant now. Mostly out of habit. We always used it growing up and I've never had a redo.
