Touch control temp?

I have a inoperable temp gauge on my Super C touch control unit. I have another mechanical gauge that I want to install but I have no idea what the normal operating temp is since the factory gauge just reads RUN or HOT,,, So what should my unit run and what is too hot??? Thanks,. Ed

I installed a new one on my Super C 10 or 15 years ago and have never seen it move.

I got one off this site 2 or 3 years ago. If it is really hot out, it
will register about 1/8" to 1/4" off the peg. It does not do it with
the sickle mower, just the rotary mower because it it up and
down more. When I first installed it, I warmed it up with a
match to make sure it worked because it never moved.

Mine has been tested and believed to work. Having said that
I've never worked the hydraulics hard enough to make the
gauge move.

I just got this tractor and am repairing several hydraulic leaks. I was concerned about the temp because while running it I did notice the steel lines getting real hot coming from the pump and the pump also making a little hummimg noise. I hope its just air and will eventually work out...Thanks, Ed
