Super C sleeves

If I choose to place larger than EOM pistons in the engine:
1. Does the crankshaft have to be machined for larger bearing size?
2. Does the head have to be machined for larger sleeves? Or, are sleeves with smaller thickness needed for this revision?

The best way is to buy a sleeve kit that is an increased sleeve size. The rod and head can be left as is.

The crankshaft and bearings are completely separate from the cylinder bore. You would use the same connecting rods regardless of bore, so only do what is necessary to get the crank journals within spec. You might need UNDERsize bearings, you might not. Depends on how bad the crank is and what the machine shop does to it.

The head does not need to be machined for different sleeves. Sleeves go in the BLOCK. On a Super C the block needs to be machined to fit the 3.25" overbore sleeves and pistons.

Make sure someone checks the crankshaft for size, with a micrometer, and the cover for the oil pump has to be smooth, have a experienced mechanic help you!

Before you order new sleeves you should remove one to get the measurements so replacements will fit. Are you sure your block is original and not have been replaced as its possible you could go to 3 1/4 bore thats why removing an old one will get the measurements for replacement.

Your sleeves should measure 7.060" in length and
3.4375" in diameter at the seal. Hire a good mechanic to help you. You may need to pull the engine. Hal
