Loader to fit on an old M

F-MM

Hi guys, does any of you farmall owners out there have or know of a useable loader to fit an old wide front M. Step-son bought a home in the country and will need to plow snow in a few months. Located in West central MN near Fargo ND. A Dual or something similar if available. Any help locating one will be appreciated.

I have a used farmhand f-10, it will push snow and lift a lot , but its the kind with the lift cyclinders on the out side of the tires, has its own pump and controls ,pto driven, 701 883 4422

F-11 Farmhand would be the 'cats meow'. IMHO,nothing wrong with a DUAL I had a )300/325 on an M once).Lots of loaders out there that could be easily installed/'adapted' to an M.

The F 11 is a great loader, but maybe more than is needed for just clearing snow. Also, there is nothing "quick-tach" about an F 11. Don't plan on putting it on when you need it, and then taking it off until it is needed again. The DUAL loader would be in the same category.

Watch consignment sales and you local paper & craigslist. That's not a high dollar item and probably plenty sitting around that nobody wants.

An IH #33 loader would fit the wide front M just fine. Should be able to find one of those for maybe $200? On the other hand, a Farmhand F11, even in severly abused condition, will be in the $1,000 range. I paid $750 for my F11. It has patches welded on top of patches, and the lift cylinders need to be rebuilt.

I can't help you find one, but here's a picture of a #33 trip bucket loader I have on my M.
I use it to push snow, it works fine for that.

An F-11 maybe... but NOT an F-10. that thing adds WAY too much length & width to a tractor for most snow clearing uses.

My #2 snow mover is the '51 M with a Stan-Hoist loader with the 80 inch wide snow bucket. Back when the loader & bucket were new 3-4 hours after it stopped snowing the whole barnyard would be cleaned up and piled up. I used to make mountains of snow with the M & that loader, piled as high as the loader would reach. The years (50+)haven't been too kind to the loader, there's patches on top of patches on top of patches on it some places, but with chains on the rear wheels, the M still moves a LOT of snow.

I have an old trip bucket Paulson on my M. Not the perfect setup, but I get along pretty good with it.
I like the fact that I can take it off & back on in about 15 minutes.

I find trip loaders are the economical way to go for most of us that own these older tractors.
For our farm usage, I have modified a Henderson trip loader from a farmall A to fit my 140. Works just fine for turning the compost, moving logs around , and all the various lifting tasks of less than 400 lbs that we need to do. I avoided a unwanted expense of another tractor by going with the trip loader so I recommend that.
