I bought my grandparents m today on an auction and It has this strange tool box on the back definately not homemade can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks

Lots of old tractors had tool boxes(some homemade,some storebought) mounted any where handy.Mounting a box just above (or to) the PTO gaurd was a common place on H/M.Should have asked grandpa about it......

Looks very much like a military ammunition shipping container that was modified for it"s present use. A fun thing about old stuff is how previous owners made /modified/ adapted things for other uses. Good luck figuring it out.

I can't tell for sure from the pic, but I think it resembles a twine box from an old IH baler. Such as a 50 T.

Agree it's an old ammo can or something similar. Whatever you do, don't take it off and throw it away. Really neat design, and adds some personality to the tractor. Love it!
