exhaust manifold correct color

They start out red like everything else and if ya ever use it, it's gonna burn off..

Rust. They were painted with the tractor at the 'factory'.Once the engine was started it would be burned off,and then rust.....

I always install exhaust manifolds un-painted. If sand blasted they will be a bare grey color for awhile. Time and moisture (even humidity) will turn it back to a dark rusty color. Do what you want, but no need to spray on paint only to have it be cooked back off and be rather smelly as its doing it.

ditto what delta said.

In my years of experience with old tractors.... seems like rust is the most common color!

I like the quanta "Cast Blast"

Like Gene Said. I will wire wheel them clean and paint them with primer and high temp black paint on the exhaust portion and then mask and paint the 2 lower intake tubes red with the tractor. Essentially the black with burn off over time and the lower will stay red giving you the original look. When doing a restoration the black makes it "pop" and it does last on there for a good while if not used much.

I paint em 2-tone like RTR. Flat black barbecue paint on exhaust components.
Give the black a shot every 6 months or so to keep the rust at bay.

Exhaust stuff on all engines gets ugly quick.
Old trick with cars, is if you want something to 'disappear'
shoot it with flat black.
(frames, inside wheelwells, exhaust pipes, etc)
