International 806 Noise?

Hey fella's I just purchased a 806 international tractor the other day to save it from going to the scrap yard. I got the tractor running the other day, and checked all my fluids they looked good, but when went to turn the steering wheel I had no pressure. Then in the area where the T/A is a funny whining, and metal rubbing sound started to be noticed. I shut the tractor down, and I failed to mention this tractor has not been started in 5yrs. I come back the tractor the next day, all my hydraulics seem to be working, but I still have that annoying sound coming from the T/A area, any idea's. Other than a hydraulic filter and oil change, because they are the first things on my list to do when I get time. :?:

You might adjust your TA and make sure that it is actually disengaged. With it sitting so long, there's likely a good bit of moisture in the trans, so there may be some rust creating noise.

Does the PTO work? Your sound may be the pressure plate hub and IPTO gear splines worn out and slipping. They can be seen by removing the two bolts that hold the cover on below the clutch and looking up between the PPA levers.

Any pictures? Gas or diesel? Ours is gas. Great in the winter... expensive to feed (for us). :) Still it's been our "big tractor" for years.
