I am thinking about buying a farmall 350. I think that size will meet my needs. There are a couple coming up at auction soon in my area. Can anyone impart any wisdom as to what look for. I think I can handle the basics aka tires and the ta is a crap shoot. Just wondered most of you have alot more expirence than me.

Thanks Rob

Nothing special to look for really. Just the normal. Does it blow blue smoke when first started. Major oil leaks. Oil in Radiator. water/coolant in oil. Hydrolics work. If able to drive or listen to being driven any growling in trans. Just really all the normal things you would look for. May want to check tightness of steering as well. Over-all they are a good tractor.

I have one. And as Farmall43 says there really isn't a specific item on them that makes them a deal breaker unless you have to have a TA and it is out. They are good solid tractors that are very fuel efficent - especially compared to the Ms and the 400-450s.

If you are looking at two 350s both with rusted out rims I would definately avoid the power slide rims if you plan on replacing.

I bought mine in 1998 figuring I'd find some rims to replace the rusted out ones on the tractor. 14 YEARS later in 2012 I finally bought a pair slightly rough looking but no rust power slides for $450 and was glad to finally find them. I'd bought the replacement tires 5 years earlier for only $100 - but the rims were very hard to find. I had patched one but the other was patched and rusted out a second time and it was just too far gone.

A Farmall 350 is nothing more than a Farmall H wearing fancy clothes. Yes, the 350 has more power, live hydraulics, independent PTO, and 2 point fast hitch. It is smaller than the M, 400, 450.
