504 stalling underload and popping sound?

504 farmall c-153 pulling my hair out, under load engine stops and has a popping sound. this is what i have done. points ,plugs, condenser,rotor,cap, new coil,flushed and cleaned gas tank,new carburetor,fresh gas,dry gas,new wires HELP!!!!! thanks to all Larry

poping from the carb or exhaust? could be the valves need to be set. if fuel and timing and spark are good, run a compression test and see if all the cylinders are within 10%. also check the distributor bushings for wear. pull the cap off and wiggle the distributor shaft side to side and look for play. if excessive, it will need bushings.

the popping seems to come from the carb.

Try colder heat range spark plugs. Champion d15y or equivalent other brand plugs. We had a 504 years ago and it did the same thing with the recommended D21's in it. Installed D15Y's and problem solved.
