I try to be a avid tractor collector and have at home 6 pre 39 tractors in my yard lined up for people to look at.They are about half painted and the other half in the orginial condition.I live in a small town and haul these to a couple shows each year along with our Christmas parade, including hauling the mayor and city council members in the parade. There are city officals starting to complain about boats and trailers sitting in peoples yard.Im sure my tractors will be next, does anyone have any advice one way or another.Im in the process of trying to build a shed if the town will allow it.There is people every day that stops by and looks at them

You could play it up,, park them out in the front yard, put a rope barrier around them and place placards in front of each one describing it.

They aren't being parked or stored, they are being displayed for the public enjoyment!
Send a picture of the tractors in the parade to the mayor and also mention that your tractors are on display, as so many people asked about them.

Just a thought.

Jimmy, I agree that you have those on display. While I think it will be unlikely that the township will complain, be prepared if they ever do. There is a huge difference between a tractor on display and a rotting car corpse.

If you are truly worried about it, talk to someone on the zoning board or whatever body governs this sort of thing in your jurisdiction.

I"m a retired Code official, but also a vintage tractor guy. My opinion is there"s a big difference between scrap tractor carcasses scattered all over the place, vs a nice collecion, all nicely lined up, with plcards, the grass mowed, etc.
I think you could really make your case to the Prosecutor Attorney, if it came to that, and ceratinly to the Judge, if it ever got to Court.
Note if it ever does get to Court, ask to see the exact wording of the relevant Code, it may limit it to vehicles inoperable, or not in running condition. If they start, tires aired up, etc., it might be a big plus.

I would make sure they stay in your yard (not parked on the side of the street). Make sure they stay operational (not sitting there not running on 3 flat tires). Also keep the grass mowed up nice and weed eated. If you do these things, you should not have a problem. If you don't do these things, it will make your yard look junky and people will complain and thats where the problem ussually starts. Keep things looking neat + nobody complains = there shouldn't be any problems. Hopefully your not in a ritzy neighborhood where they have codes on what you can do and can't do with your own yard.

There's a big difference between an arranged display and random junk sitting around in an unkept yard. If your yard is neat (mowed, weedwhacked, etc.) and the tractors are arranged in some kind of order, I can believe that your town officials would complain. Worst case senario, you could claim that this is is "yard art" and thus exempt from removal. I notice many similar things in my area (old tractors sitting in yards, plows, mowers painted or not) No town officials have ever complained.

keep them running, then looks are irrelevant.
Get a pull behind self powered lawn mower and
rotate tractors to mow with it.(even a tiny yard)
Then, they ain't no different than your rich neighbors
$20k kubota or zeroturn.........
have a tiny garden, so you are 'working the soil' :D

Like said, don't let the grass/weeds grow under them, cover them in inclement weather (looks maintained)
If you live right in a town, keeping the mufflers quiet is more important than looks.

Biggest thing, like the other poster mentioned is to keep them moving around the property. putt around on one or another all the time.
Like my neighbors, yours will probably learn to just roll their eyes, and say, 'He's playing with his tonka toys again'
I don't live in town, but some courtesy helps. Holidays or if I see party preparations at a neighbors place, I leave em parked if possible.
