Mag for W 30

I have a rebuilt mag for a 22 - 36 and now I need one for the W 30, will it fit the W 30 or do I have to do some changes to the drive. Thanks...Darald

it depends upon the year of each tractor. An E4A and and F4 will both work and only require a different coupler. bolt pattern for mounting is the same on both, only the coupler disk is different

actually this could be a yes or no question depending on what year the mags are. they actually have a different length on them given the three types of impulses used on them.

E4A with manual trip
E4A with E500 automatic impulse
F4 with E500 style impulse
F4 with late style impulse (had metal band around the coupler)

if you need pics of the different styles I can get you some so you have a better idea of what they look like

Old-F20 is spot on, hence my statement about different coupler plates. All mags will bolt down. All indicated mags will work. Just depends upon which coupler is needed.

Added update: the different couplers are related to which mag you have. it is NOT influenced by the tractor. Only exception to that is of course the WK40 which is a 6 cylinder. that takes the F6 mag, which for the most part is the same as the F4 from a base construction, but has a different distributer/rotor, and point setting.

It looks like I may only have to change the drive, I have a couple of parts W 30's in the yard so I should be able to handle it. If I don't have the correct parts, I will be contacting Cowman. Thanks guys...Darald
