Seal replacement

Working on replacing some seals on our farmall h. I believe some of the seal are original. When I have removed a few of them they are a lot bigger than the ones I have to replace them. Should I be doubling up on the seals to make them as close to the original ones or will I be ok with using one seal ?

You"ll be OK with just the one. New ones are smaller a lot of times.

I understand the old thick ones were made by Chicago Rawhide, sourced from the old Chicago stockyards. Nowadays the synthetic rubber seals can be much thinner, probably better. Nothing to worry about.
