IH 434 gas tractor owner

Do you have the operator's manuel for the tractor? If not you might want to get one, it answers a lot of everyday questions such as maintenance, checking fluids etc. you might be able to get one from this site.
 
I have the manual. The manual is saying pto,transmission and differential to use SAE 90 gear oil. Hydraulic system SAE 20 engine oil. The oil sold now is a combination oil, hydraulic/transmission. Any thoughts
 
Hi, yes, pto, trans and diff all use 90 WT gear oil
as it is all in the same case. Hydraulic oil was SAE
20 non-detergent but you can use Hytran
hydraulic/transmission oil in the hydraulic system.

I am having issues shifting from reverse to 1st and engaging the PTO(live). Sometimes on start up the shifting is fine and it seems when it warms up it is harder to shift. I want to change the transmission oil to start with and the take it from there. The tractor is up north so trying things takes time. Thanks for clearing up the oil. I was told I can use the hytran for the both. Brian
