Farmall MD injection pump/primary pump seals

The seals between the primary and injection pump are leaking causing the pump to flood with fuel. The primary uses a packing with compression nut and spring to seal around shaft that drives the primary, some used packing others use a oil seal. What could I use to replace the packing and either stop or slow the leak? Would graphite packing, felt, leather orings ect work. Don't really want to send it to centeral injection if I can fix it myself. Thanks.

Any place that rebuilds them should be able to sell u what u need to repair it my wd9 was blowing it out where u fill the pump with oil I found a place here that rebuilt it for 200 and hadn't leaked since otherwise buy a spare pump and switch it

What is the i.d. on the housing? IIRC the shaft is .312 in diameter.

When I replaced the seal on the 400D I noticed that is was simply two regular seals inside a sleeve.

I am wondering if you could retro-fit something similar; two seals in the same housing and lose the packing nut, glands and backer. My book shows both pumps exploded but it's a drawing and non ultra-clear.
