C-113 coolant temp sensor install

I'd like to put a coolant temp probe in the block somewhere. Question is I do not know where. I was thinking about potentially drilling a hole between cylinders two and three on the carburetor side of the block. As of right now I am doing a in frame rebuild so the block does not have any sleeves and it yet. I would think that if there was a good time to drill a hole in the block, this would be the time. I appreciate any thoughts on the matter.

The original temperature probe on the 113 cu block was on the water inlet connection to the block and the gauge was located on top of the governor housing

The upper water outlet from a Super C will not work on a C-113 engine, unless you also have the taller Super C radiator to connect it to. Different hose size and wrong angle.

I tried it, it didn't fit.

I drilled and tapped a hole in the upper water outlet elbow of my A. Got the gauge mounting bracket for the governor, installed the gauge and it works great. If you mess up drilling and tapping the water outlet elbow it's a lot cheaper to replace than the block :) plus it's the hottest place in the system.
