1568 question

A non-tractor friend who nevertheless knows everything, said the 1568 was turbocharged. Better than that, he said it had twin turbochargers from the factory.
I did not think the 1568 was turbocharged. Am I correct?
I also did think that International put turbo's on any tractor, or at least any tractor made before the early eighties.
Comments?

No turbo's from factory on that model V-8 but IH was using turbos' in 65 on Farmall model 1206 and before that on some industrial.

I think just about every tractor from 1206 on with 100+ hp had a turbo from the factory.
(Other than the V8s)
1066
1466
1566
1086
1486
1586
5088?
5288
5488
and I'm pretty sure all the old 4wds as well as the 2+2's, am I correct?
Doesn't the engine designation DT as in DT436 stand for diesel, turbocharged?

I have seen several pictures of 1568's with twin turbos, but I doubt they were on there from the factory.

No dual turbos' on farm tractors. I can't speak for all IH engines but the only dual or triple turbos' I ever heard of were aftermarket, independent designs mostly of pullers.
I was working at a dealer for quite a few years when the 1206 was introduced and that was the first turbo I had experience with. I remember it well with all the horror stories that came along.

No factory dual turbos indeed!

Even the DVT800 (big V-8 diesel used in IHC heavy trucks, Payloaders, IHC scrapers, etc. in the late 60's/early 70's) used only a single turbocharger.
