I just picked up a IHC 584 at an auction with a 835 KMW loader on it.

Everything works great, except for 2nd gear. It doesn't go all the way into gear, so it jumps out right away and I went as far as taking all of the covers off, and it's something inside of the trans. If I hold it down, it is there, but it won't stay. I might have a line on a second one for spare parts, but do I even bother taking the top cover off to check to see if it's something that's fixable from the top? Otherwise, I'll just wait until winter and split it and pull it out to work on it.

As for the loader, it's missing whatever is needed to be able to quick disconnect the loader off of it. I think it would be considered a foot off the back? It looks like it was stored inside one of the cross arms on the loader. Seems to be 3" x 36" ? But anyone have a picture to what it looks like and actual measurements so I can make one?

Other than that, the wiring is in bad shape as nothing is really hooked up at all for lights. Nothing too major, just need to work my way through it to figure out what I want to do with them.

Thanks!

Hi Mark,
Which type of transmission shift levers does your 584 have? The old style with two levers and slots for Rev/Hi/Lo ans 1,2,3,4 or new style with two levers and H pattern for 1,2,3,4?
If it is the old style make sure sheet metal is not bent and there is no junk fallen down behind or under the seat. Speed transmission, gears 1 thru 4 is under the dash/battery box area and shift linkages are adjustable and run under sheet metal cover on top of transmission.
