Value of farmall cubs

Fellow wants me to make an offer on two farmall cubs. Neither
currently run, but did run several years ago before being
parked in a garage. One has a belly mounted rotary mower
and rear weights. Both have electric start and lights. One
needs a rear tire, both have good sheet metal. I want to make
as fair of an offer as can. Anyone purchased or sold any
recently and can tell me some actual price figures and not just
asking prices that never sell?

I was at an auction last year with an older restoration F-Cub that still looked very nice. Started right up. They struggled to get $800 for a full minute. Didn't want it, don't need it, but it was coming home with me if it stayed around $1000 so I got ready to jump in and a like minded fella did the same. It eventually sold for $1200.

Hard to say without seeing them,,are the motors loose, a tire is not cheap, are you buying to restore, use, or resell, if the mower is a 42 in, cut it is worth only about a 100 dollars. I would say in the range of 500 to 800 dollars apiece MAX.

They all bring more than they are worth. I gave 1700 for mine with 3 implements and had to do a lot of work on it. A Super A is worth twice as much and sell for about the same price. Cub parts are costly.

A year ago, I purchased a 1962 cub with a Wagner loader, one point fast hitch, and three implements for $1,300.00. It had good tires, but I have had to do a fair amount of work to it.

some good pictures would be a help, because condition matters. A bare cub, good sheet metal but not running with an engine that will turn over is worth around 400 to 600 in my area (about 70 miles south of St. Louis). A belly mower, not beat to pieces or rusted out will bring from $150 to $400 depending on type and condition. If the engine is stuck, take about $200 off the tractor prices.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your advice. At this time photos are not an option. Fellow selling them is not ok with photos taken of his items and put on the internet. I have a good relationship with this fellow and want to keep it that way. I'm pretty sure we'll come to an agreement, as my thoughts on price were very much in line with what has been suggested here.

Unless they're stolen I just understand that line of thinking, BUT it can be respected well enough. Just wait til you get them home and post the photos then!! You know we all love to see pictures! Best of luck.

Oh no, they are not stolen I'm sure. This gentleman is well in
his 90s and sharp as a tack. I have bought one other tractor
from him, but know very little about Cubs and just want to be
fair with him. He trusts me and I don't want to harm that trust in
any way. He just doesn't know a lot about the internet and
would not want his items posted on it.

I just sold a great running cub with quiet tranny good hyd. for 700.00 and stuggled to get that. The prices have fallen.

Just attended an auction that had two cubs, both and running. With a set of cutivators one that had been pieced together went for 2400 and the other also pieced together with hydraulics and snow plough (abit rougher than the first) went for 2700.. If they have hydraulics and are in fair shape I think 1800 apiece. Cubs are expensive in mu area of Ohio
