Spring Tooth Harrow

There is an ongoing auction in my area. I have a home made spring tooth harrow that has been modified for 3 pt. I dragged it/ rolled it into my trailer for taking to the auction. All springs are decent and the pig ears are rounded on the bottoms. It is rusty with small areas of paint....paint looks like a case or caterpillar orangish color. The question I to ask is whether it is worth it to take it to the sale as a piece of yard art or should I just outright purchase it for use. It is a 4ft across unit from outside tooth to outside tooth. Would it be better to use after I disc the garden?? or the 2 acres after mowing/discing????...or take it as more weight for the metal recycling that is gonna happen?? Hope the weekend is good for you all.

A small spring tooth Harrow is a great garden tool. If you have a tractor that can use it, I would keep it. There is plenty of time to re-sell it if you find it to be inappropriate.
They do not break up clods in clay, they do prep a nice seed bed if loam or sandy soil is on your property. Not so much yard art as they are hard to mow under/around without chemical treatment of the pad it sits on. Jim

And for James....that is probably why my dad is cutting his drag one up for scrap. He is keeping the springs for a baby tractor he has and wants to play with.
