I need to replace my 5' IH "3160" mower?

Anyone know where I can find one in working
condition & what price range can I expect?

Thanks

Where are you located? Are the parts that you need no longer offered? I haven't seen a bare 3160 deck offered for sale without a tractor for a while now, but would expect a good deck to bring $500 or better. Some 3160 repair parts are currently offered on ebay. Keep in mind also, that Woods 59LB decks were engineered to fit a Lo-Boy 184, and the Woods parts are easily ordered and are often on hand at the dealer. Woods mowers are more popular here (Indiana) than the International decks ever were.

Lee, I'm in South Louisiana. I've got the "3160A" presently but it's in rough shape. I can get new spindles but I'll still have an old deck that's a little beat up.

Now if I went with a Woods, my understanding is that I'd have to get spacers for the rear wheels. You know anything about that? Thanks,

Gary

Yes, the rear wheel spacers are required for the Woods mowers. Probably you realize that any 3160 mower that you find for sale will also be old and may have the same issues that your current deck has. The benefit of the Woods mower is that there are so many more to choose from (for sale) than there are IH mowers. It's like finding parts for vintage Fords compared to finding parts for vintage Buicks.

(quoted from post at 22:14:18 07/29/14) Good point Lee, thanks much for the suggestion.

I might take a chance & repair what I have.

Gary
Gary,
I just bought a Cub that had a 3160 mower on it. I do not need it. It has been repainted, blades, belts and the deck are in good shape. It has the set of pulleys that are below the PTO pulley.
