Farmall Super H meter-box screws

Working on my 53 Super H installing new wiring to the lights. I broke both of the long screws that hold the front cover on the box where the light switch is located. Any suggestions where to find screws this long to replace them?

Some hardware store or think I have bought them at Lowes. Number 8 screws if I remember correct. Take one with you in case I remember wrong.

A temporary alternative is to buy a piece of #8-32 all thread rod and 4 nuts and make your own screws.

I did this for my Super H after the OEM screws snapped about 15 years ago. My home-made screws are still waiting to be replaced with "correct" screws.

8/32x2 1/2 screws from your local hardware store.

Grind a taper on the end of the screw to help with insertion.
