Question for C123- C153 pullers

As you all know I am coming to the final stages of the C153 Super C project. My question is--As I am trying to keep this as simple with as few parts as I can is there any down side to running a magneto on a C-153????? Just wondering if the mag would handle the additional rpms and other C-153 differences
 
Your spark advance on the mag is going to be right about 35 degrees before top dead center at all engine speeds and that C-153 is to run about 22 degrees before top dead center at full throttle with battery ign. The automatic advance in the battery ignition unit will, if operating correctly retard and advance the timing according to engine rpm. I would say 35 degrees advanced would cause severe detonation with engine working hard.
You actually need to fine tune it on a dyno for max horsepower with least advance to be safe for heavy pulling but at least get a good battery ign unit made for the C-153.
