farmall b serial number

How else can you tell the year on a farmall b. It has a seat with a spring a farmall c. I cant find a serial number plate on it anywhere.

The motor number and the serial number for the B were the same. If your motor has not been switched out the motor number will match the serial number. To find the motor number look on the right side of the engine block above the distributor on a flat just under the front (No. 1) plug almost behind the throttle rod. It will be the stamped number.

There will be a # rite below #1 spark plug on a flat surface it will say FABXXXXXX then you look at the list of serial #s in the left collum of this page. You can also look fro the cast code on the tranny by the clutch pedal it will have a numberthen that is the month second number is the day followed by a letter with the letter being the yr example 2*4*o would feb2,1945 that is the day that part was cast at the factory those codes appear different places on other cast parts wont be exactuly the same code on all parts but gives a general idea when that part was cast.

On the block or head. The head has been changed but not the block that I know of.

On the block just below #1. Look for the throttle rod. I had to move my rod to see the number.
