C-153 vs D-188 into a C

Looks like we have a few guys interested in putting a C-153 out of a 504 into a Farmall C. My question is if the gas block out a 504 bolts up with just minor alterations... would it not stand to reason that the D-188 Diesel engine in a 504 D would then bolt up to C, 200, 240, 404 bell housing too? Would be kind of cool to see a 240 Diesel or 404 Diesel.

Just wondering how big a project that would be if you used components off a 504 Utility.

Sure some know more about this but the only units I know of are 153 power units from other IH equipment being swapped in. 504 blocks are different.

The rear of the 153 engines that fit in the 504 tractors is angular shaped and will not fit a "C" style bell housing-- the 153 motors that are being put in"A" "B" and "C" are out of swathers and combines and have the round style back end to mate to the round style tractors

Did IH ever make a D-166 or D-188 with the round tailend to go in a combine/ swather/ power unit that would fit in the round bell housing on a C-404?
