I got my SMTA back from being painted by good friend of
mine. Excited to use it! Thanks to all on this site who helped
me get it put back together!

Pic hopefully this time

Nice! I remember when I was a kid at a county fair and those were brand new. That large sticker impressed me! You took your picture at a nice time of the day however it would have really shone if you'd parked it by the grain bins in the sunlight.

Yeah, well, mine doesn't look anything like that. Closer to pink than red. Run her thru the woods a few times and leave it in the sun for a couple decades. Then she'll be perfect!

Just kidding...it's envy speaking. Ignore me.

Thanks guys! I don't use the belt pulley for anything. It was still on the tractor. Only been around a belt once, we used a Case L to run a threshing machine years ago for a community celebration.

Is this when they started with the 8 spoke rear wheel centers(late 54?)

NOT "picking" at it,just wondering?I am NOT on the "correct police" force.

Nice ride! ;)

Okay, I'm not part of the correct police either, and that is one fantastic looking Super M-TA; can somebody tell me where you can get rear rims that have the kind of attachment shown in the pic? Apparently the kind that come in a letter series H won't work on a 450 or 460. (Rim has different shape.) I need the kind shown right here in this pic. Thanks, and again, I wish my "red" iron looked as good as the one shown here:)

8 spoke started on F-400 tractors at serial number 5,000 and something. Don't think any were cast before December 54. Never found any with a earlier cast code anyway.
Interestingly some early 8 spoke cast wheels were made wrong. Where the wheel weights bolt on they didn't put the extra material at the hole in the right place to clock weights to wheel correct. On those they ended up with 8 holes drilled instead of 4 for wheel weight mounting.

Lots of places sell new what's called double bevel rims that work on the 8 spoke wheels. Lot of used ones around also in a lot of different widths. Usually sell for less than deep drop rims the same width.
