Water Gauge Lead Replacement Is It Possible

Hello Everyone I have a question I have a working water gauge original and correct to the tractor but the lead is bad is it possible to replace the lead?

Yes it's possible but you'll need thousands of dollars of equipment to do it, you basically have to remake the gauge, fill it with the proper fluid and calibrate it, If it was made it can be remade BUT it's not practical.

I"ve had my 706 and 806 wheatland lp gauge tubes redone. they have a precharged line to connect to your line comeing out of the gauge. they work fine. only complaint is they are way long but simply coiled up excess out of sight.

we replaced the line about a foot from the gauge to the end because the fitting going into the motor was junk. the line can be replaced reasonably

Or, perhaps NOT?
NO high dollar stuff here

Sounds like a pig in a poke to me, but if you're a hardcore DIY type and you absolutely have to save that gauge, it's worth a shot.

In the end, you'll have a gauge with a needle that moves in response to water temperature, if you're lucky. Probably won't be calibrated even close to correct.

Odds are you'll probably screw up a few before you get a working unit.

I'll get you the info this evening when back home with cost. I didn't have any choice as the LP gas gauges don't have the fuel gauge and are not available after market or otherwise. I am happy with the way they work. I Found a NOS one a couple years ago and would like to find another.
