farmall 460 power steering not working

Does it steer now without the power steering working? If it has only a hydrostatic connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels, you are out of luck, but if there is a mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels, then even with power steering, you can steer it, it will just take more effort. You won't ruin the power steering pump, it will still have oil flowing through it, as long as the hydratouch and fast hitch system has oil; both power steering and hydratouch/fast hitch systems feed out of the same reservoir. It would help if you could be more specific: what exactly is the power steering doing or not doing that lead you to conclude that it is not working? Good luck, Hugh.

The 460 and 560 are the last "big" IH tractors to have a physical shaft connecting the steering wheel to the front end.

IIRC, manual steering is a RARE delete-option on these tractors. Good luck finding one, I'd think.

Not sure if there is anything you can do to the existing power steering to make it not interfere with manual steering...
