Hay is done

Thought I'd post this before I get too much into the party - finished my hay today (I'm in western NY). Got my usual 1200 - 1300 bales.I broke it up over 4 weekends and had real nice weather for all 4 days I baled.Did all the hay again this year with my M and 46 baler. It sure did get harder without my 2 sons around. My retired neighbor helped me - he's an x-farm boy. We're both over 60 and thus the reason for spreading out the season. We did around 300 bales each time we baled and took turns loading the wagon. Worked out pretty well. The money funds my hobby - sure hope another tractor doesn't suddenly show up with the profits LOL!

We are hoeing to finish ours this weekend we get in about the same # of bales. Was tough because I just had surgery and cannot lift over 5# so my dad and uncle who are both about 70 did the equipment work and a few teenagers did some of the heavy lifting for them. Was tough not to jump in when something broke but I will be ready for next year

Are they all sold? How much back there. I got $4 for 550 bales. and they had to pick them up out of the field.
I'll get one more cutting and take a bunch of grass hay when I do that.

Nice. I'm way behind. We've had rain, rain and more rain. Got a break this weekend somewhat. Everything is still damp. I'm glad I didn't plant oats like I had intended.
