Super C Hydraulic Pump Sticking

My Super C has recently developed a problem with the hydraulic Touch Controls. Normally, there is a slight high-pitched whine associated with moving the hydraulic levers up or down--a noise which goes away when I release the lever. I assume this noise is the hydraulic pump turning on.

Lately, the noise doesn't go away completely when I release the control--as though the pump is still engaged. If I fiddle with one or more of the levers, I can get it to stop. But it is not right and I am worried about overheating the pump.

Any ideas what is sticking?
Would a rebuild kit for the pump help, or am I looking at a new $440 pump?

In behind the battery box, back side of hydraulic control box is a small pipe plug. Under that plug is a screw driver headed orfice. That is the first thing I would look at. The orfice has a screen on it and if most likely plugged restricting the flow through the orfice. The flow through that orfice is what moves the unloading piston to return the system to low pressure standby.

Pete--is the plug you are describing accessible without removing the battery? I read in the manual that there is a screen behind the "touch control" sensor (lower left in this photo), so I pulled that out--it is huge ... a fat tube maybe six inches long. No idea what the correct procedure would be to clean it ... I just wiped it off and put it back.

So, I guess I didn"t find the plug you mentioned. Do I need to pull out the battery and remove the battery box?

There are two spool valves in the touch control unit. They may have bad seals or are hanging up. The pump runs all the time. It does make a noise when it is under load. It is worse at low RPM. If you are going to mess with it at any depth, you need to get a manual for it.
