Had a little fun a few days back pre-heating, then welding the front bolster from my 424.

I used an industrial-strength Lincoln 3-phase motor-generator DC welder and nickle rod.

It seeming to weld pretty good after LOTS of pre-heating of both broken areas.

Darned camera battery went dead after this photo, so no pictures of the finished job!

Here's the "after" photo... I burned the nickle in pretty good from both sides.

Maybe should have woven another bead on top, I don't know... it's not perfect, but not too bad... I didn't grind it, just chipped the slag off, gave it a quick coat of paint, and put it to work.
