Cub carb problem

My cub will only run if I hold the choke on. I"ve looked at YouTube videos on carb cleaning and adjustments but all the carbs look different than mine. Even the I&T manual looks different. Mine doesn"t seem to have a removable main metering jet, only an idle mixture adjusting needle... Adjusting that does not help. What do I need to do?

the zenith carb has a jet on the very bottom of the there is a plug it will need a 1/2 wrench to remove it and inside is the jet will need a flat blade screwdriver or you can try to blow it out with air

First off, the tractor will run better right side up.

Second, the main metering jet is under that plug that's on the top left of the carburetor in the picture, near the engine oil dipstick.

It is a Zenith carburetor, used as a replacement on early Cubs and stock on later Cubs. The specifications for it are not in the IH service manuals, but you can find them online.

Your problem is more serious than a simple adjustment if you have to hold the choke to make it run. That is fuel flow or an internal blockage in the carburetor itself.

If just cleaning the main metering jet does not help you will need to take the carburetor apart, clean it, and put a kit in it.

Thank y"all for the help. I"m not sure why my picture is upside
down, it is right side up on my device.... I defenatly wasn"t
standing on my head when I took the picture! Are the zenith
carbs better that the original ones?
