looking for a cheap and easy fix for my TA. could i weld my pinion gears to my carrier then eliminate the TA clutch.then plug the weep holes in the TA clutch houseing.tractor is going to be for loader work. and snow removal, no real need for the TA. i got the front splitting stand built , just haveing trouble findind time to work on it.
 
Possible but any weld or metal splatter may lead to other failures if doing it in the tractor. Was thinking wrong earlier if you weld the gears it doesn't matter about the t/a clutch. Although the operating link should be disconnected. But without removing the rollers in the t/a unit you will have gear bind a lot when trying to shift
